Comments, Notes: The cemetery is open to 7pm, however the lower gate was closed at 5pm when I was there. Open year round. There are 3 entrances: The Main Gate at Oakwood Avenue (Route 40) is open 8AM – 7PM daily. The gates at 101st St. and at 114th St. are open 9AM – 4PM (weather permitting) Additional tidbits from resources: From Gurley Ave, followed the bike trail south. After 1/4 mile, took an unmarked path on the left that climbs through the ravine known as “Devils Kitchen”. From Knickerbacker Park: At the culvert about one-quarter mile north of the monument at Knickerbacker Park an unmarked trail branches off to the east. This trail leads up through a ravine known as “Devil’s Kitchen,” past two waterfalls, into Oakwood Cemetery.
