Waterfalls, Whats areas and types interest You! 6-5-2017

Waterfalls, Whats areas and types interest You!

I am curious! We all view our destinations based on our personal preferences. For all you “Waterfall” folks, what areas or types of waterfall locations do you choose to see.

Do you like long hikes to get to a waterfall?
Do you prefer a roadside stop here and there along a route to your end destination?

Do you prefer hikes less then 1 mile to see a waterfall?

Would you only visit tourist areas of attractions like Niagara Falls, Watkins Glen State Park or Letchworth State Park?

Would you camp in the woods over night, just to see waterfalls?

If you were to choose a waterfall destination where would it be?

I would like to see your comments!

My point of view
I love waterfalls, of course. I do not like lots of people, therefore I would choose lesser known places to travel to. As well as the adventure it brings. Niagara Falls is a totally awesome place, yet I found every time I went it was too overwhelming with all the people. I love following the “Whitewater rafting/kayaking” folks. I love watching as they plummet over the falls! Sure there on plenty of on lookers, cheering on their friend or family or spouses. Everyone is there with the same common interest. That and I get to learn and find more waterfalls in which is classified as rapids! I have had more adventures and stories to tell for years later! Cool, I think so.

Getting waterfall locations and information updated and available to the public. Our Team members are already out there hitting the roads for this new season. I soon hope to be getting out there myself.

Tenant Creek Falls, (also known as Hope Falls for some), has a new trail in place. I did not have knowledge of this new trail map and wanted to share this with the public. There are three waterfalls here.

Creating Your Own Adventure by Russell Dunn In the Spring 1997 issue of Kaatskill Life (a quarterly magazine devoted to the Catskills), I wrote an article entitled “Hunting for Waterfalls.” Little has changed since that piece was written. People still love to get out and hike to waterfalls. As it turns out, there are way…

Just an update! I am still working on a lot of background improvements and changes to the website. At times there will be locations, or sections, that are unavailable. I have learned so much in the past few weeks, regarding pages, posts etc. Background work is more than I ever thought. The steps it takes to set up a proper working website that until now never understood their functions. So, hang in there, check back often. Thanks for all you patience as I work through it all.
